Homosexuality: Choice or Genetic?
Where do you stand?

I have found the Bible to be very clear on the subject of homosexual behavior, and I have a personal testimony of freedom from that lifestyle. It is through the love of Jesus, the power of the gospel, and the fellowship of other believers that I have been delivered now for nearly two decades. As a result, I have been privileged to help other people find and maintain personal freedom from homosexual lifestyles through their personal relationships with Jesus Christ.

Some people in the Christian community have asked whether one can be a Christian and a homosexual at the same time. An individual can not be in the will of God and have sexual relations with others out of the biblical context of marital covenant, as God ordained and designed it. The scriptures are very clear that we are not to have sex with one we are not married to, specifically a man with someone other than his wife or a woman with someone other than her husband.

God designed sexual relationships between a male and a female. The Bible tells us this in Genesis 1:26-28, Genesis 5:2, Matthew 19:4, and Mark 10:6. These scriptures can not be made by the homosexual "Church" to justify or support sexual deviation from God's explicit design, without twisting them to the breaking point.

These verses tell us clearly that homosexuals are not born that way. Such a belief has no scriptural basis. If we read the Word of God as it was intended to be understood, it becomes clear that the Lord God created male and female to be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth by bearing children and rearing families. When those within the homosexual community say that they were born this way or that God will bring them a help mate with reference to Genesis 1:28, it is vividly clear that they take the scripture out of context. The Bible clearly states it is male and female who came together for marital bonding.

The Christian Church must respond to this issue with uncompromising truth and the love of Christ. It must boldly proclaim the gospel truth that homosexual behavior is sinful and misses the mark of God's intent for human sexuality. No matter what the popular issues of the day may be, God's people must preach the truth that will set at liberty those who are captive to sin of any kind.

When individuals in homosexual behavior are told the truth and they accept it, they will not only know the truth but it will set them free. Christians must show love and acceptance in order to minister to the homosexual community. Individuals must also be willing to change their sexual behavior to line up with scripture if they want to be part of the Church.

No matter what the sin is, the Bible clearly says that people are to leave the Church if they do not repent of their sin.

The "Gay Church's" perspective is made clear in John McNeal's book, The Homosexual and the Church. McNeal states that until the Church comes to the place of accepting Gay and Lesbian people's lifestyle within the Christian community, the Church will not come into its fulfillment. Such a notion is obviously at odds with what the Bible really teaches.

However, Saint Paul does instruct us to "not quarrel" and "be kind to everyone. . .in the hope that God will grant them repentance. . .that they will come to their senses, escape the trap of the Devil who has taken them captive to do his will" (2 Timothy 2:24-26). In other words we are to love the sinner and hate the sin.
